The aim of screening is to detect cancer early. Early detection improves your chances for survival.
It is up to you to decide if you want to participate or not. If you are seriously ill, the disadvantages may outweigh the benefits of screening.
Participation in the Colorectal Screening Program is voluntary. If you do not wish to receive invitations for colorectal screening, you can notify us.
Participating in ColorectalScreen Norway may have both advantages and disadvantages.
The method used in ColorectalScreen Norway is a test for invisible blood in the stools. You take a test at home and send it in for analysis.
If blood is detected in your stool at screening, you will be invited to have a colonoscopy examination at the hospital. At colonoscopy, the inside of your colon is examined.
