Colorectal Cancer Registry

The Colorectal Cancer Registry is a continuation and expansion of the Rectum Cancer Registry. The goal is to optimize the treatment course for patients with bowel cancer.

From January 1 2007 the Cancer Registry introduced, in collaboration with the Norwegian Colorectal Group, a new notification form for tumours in the colon and rectum. The form is created by gastric surgeons and reference group members in the Norwegian Rectal Cancer Group and edited by the Cancer Registry to fit the earlier database. The form replaces the earlier clinical registration form for rectal cancer and the Cancer Registry’s notification form for solid tumours.

The aim is to achieve a clinical registry for colorectal cancer that is a diagnosis-, treatment- and  follow-up registry. The final goal is to acquire knowledge that continuously contributes in optimizing the treatment course for this patient group.
