Industry collaboration to understand effect of HPV-vaccine

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is one of the latest developments within cervical cancer prevention. While clinical trials performed to test vaccines are ongoing for only a few years, the expected vaccine effect should be long lasting. Once clinical trials are completed, post-marketing studies are needed to measure long term vaccine effectiveness and side effects.

HPV is a commonly transmitted virus which causes cervical cancer, as well as other HPV related cancers and diseases. HPV vaccination at before sexual exposure to the virus has been shown to prevent cervical precancer and cancer. In this project we perform long term follow up of young individuals who have been given Gardasil HPV vaccination as part of a clinical trial.
