Lifecourse research

A focus on the total lifecourse implies research on long-term effects of lifestyle factors and other exposures during early life in utero, childhood, youth and adult life. The department will give priority to research that increases the understanding of what early-life conditions means in relation to exposure and later risk of cancer. Several studies have focused on the importance of early life on adult cancer risk, specifically for hormone-related cancers such as breast, prostate, and testicular cancer.
