Einar Birkeland is a postdoc at the Cancer Registry.
Birkeland employs bioinformatics tools to describe changes in immune responses over time, connecting these to the development of cervical cancer, as well as other HPV-related cancer forms.
Birkeland is a molecular biologist by training, with an Msc from the University of Bergen completed in 2010.
He completed a PhD in 2018, where he studied the genomic evolution of tumors, and how this relates to therapy resistance in breast cancer and melanoma.
