Gunvor Aasbø is employed as a postdoc in the project "Equalscreen: Increased attendance and less social inequality in cervical cancer screeening". Equalscreen conducts a focus group study with women who are late for cervical cancer screening in order to develop a better understanding of barriers to participation in the Norwegian programme. Further in the research project, an RCT study (randomised controlled trial) will be conducted on participation in cervical cancer screening when offering HPV home testing (self-sampling) among women who are delayed for cervical cancer screening. Aasbø`s research interests include the use of qualitative methods, user perspectives and care research. Aasbø is educated a sociologist, and has for the past 10 years worked with various qualitative methods to gain increased knowledge about user experiences related to care, health services and medicine.
