Arbeidsoppgaver/interesser:
Kirsti Vik Hjerkind is working on a project mapping the incidence of different cancers among immigrant groups in Norway, compared to Norwegian-born women and men. In particular, she studies the incidence of cervical cancer and the incidence of different subtypes of breast cancer among immigrant woman compared to Norwegian-born women. 

Hjerkind has also been involved in a study of mammographic density and risk factors for breast cancer.

Utdannelse/Bakgrunn:
Hjerkind has a PhD in public health from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.
